Elizabeth MacNeil is a registered occupational therapist specializing in neurodiversity-affirming care, augmentative and alternative communication (AAC), and lifespan support.
As an autistic occupational therapist, she is deeply passionate about learning from non-speaking autistic individuals and using her platform to amplify and honor their voices, perspectives, and lived experiences.
Elizabeth has experience supporting individuals across the lifespan, from pediatrics to geriatrics. She currently works in long-term care, providing compassionate support to older adults to enhance their quality of life.
She also works with autistic children and families through FSCD contracts, focusing on AAC systems and individualized support. Her practice is rooted in neurodiversity-affirming, relationship-based, and client-centered approaches.
Elizabeth integrates assistive technology, sensory strategies, and motor skill development to support communication, self-care, and meaningful participation in daily life. She collaborates closely with families and multidisciplinary teams to design personalized interventions that respect autonomy, communication differences, and individual strengths.
In addition to clinical work, she provides coaching, public speaking, and training for parents, therapists, and organizations, advocating for inclusive, accessible, and strengths-based care across communities and systems.
